Ogi opens new office hubs across south Wales, including a flagship headquarters in Cardiff’s iconic Hodge House
Friday, 17 June. Cardiff, Wales. A year into its ambitious broadband rollout plan and Ogi, Wales’s homegrown broadband provider marks a milestone with the launch of four new offices across south Wales, as part of its multimillion-pound Gigabit-capable broadband rollout in some of Wales’s most iconic towns and villages.
Representing a commitment to serving all parts of south Wales,, the company’s new hubs help staff to work flexibly and closer to home. As well as four inspiring workplaces, in Newport, Tongwynlais and St Clears Ogi will also open its new modern headquarters ‘Tŷ Ogi’, based in the historic Hodge House building, on St Mary’s Street.
The new office environments, combined with a company-wide drive towards flexible working, provide staff with more choice than ever before. ‘Tŷ Ogi’, centred around a Network Operations Centre – the internet service provider’s mission control – brings together the company’s technical, operational and customer care teams under one roof for the first time; the three operational hubs, bring planning and engineering functions together, with a state-of-the-art lab facility in Newport trialling next-generation technologies on a like-for-like network simulation.
Located in the historic dance hall in Hodge House, ‘Tŷ Ogi’ – Ogi’s new flagship headquarters [pictured] – roots the company in Wales’s rich co-operative heritage, in a building well known for developing home-grown businesses since it first opened it’s doors back in 1915.
“After two years of working remotely, it’s great to be bringing people back together to work collaboratively in these new and inspiring spaces.” Said Ogi’s People Experience Director, Lisa Hand. “The benefits of the blended work routine across Wales have started to become visible. These new Ogi hubs offer our staff the flexibility to live and work closer to their families as well as create opportunities to learn, collaborate and celebrate our successes together in person.
“Our new facilities will help staff work from wherever they choose without compromise – and I look forward to seeing the benefits this will bring for our people and Ogi.”
